The Legend Of Roro Jonggrang
Beauty Of Indonesia - Old people say, there's a statue of a queen who was cursed to be a gravestone in Prambanan Temple." Without being asked he began to tell about the legend of the Prambanan Temple. Once upon a time there was a veritably beautiful queen named Roro Jonggrang. That beauty allured a Napoleon to ask for her hand. Roro Jonggrang put forward the condition to make a thousand tabernacles overnight as a subtle turndown of the offer. still, Bandung Bondowoso still agreed. Bandung Bondowoso also asked for the help of spirits to make a thousand tabernacles in one night. When the 999 tabernacles were erected, Roro Jonggrang ordered the townies to light a campfire and pound rice with a mortar. The jinn allowed that dawn had come and ran down. Bandung Bondowoso, who was angry with Roro Jonggrang's trick, cursed him into a gravestone statue to complete the 1000th tabernacle." Until now the statue is still there, latterly you can see for yourself," said the hack motorist. Without realizing it, we were nearly there.

History Of Prambanan Temple
Prambanan Temple is the largest Hindu tabernacle in Indonesia as well as one of the most beautiful tabernacles in Southeast Asia. According to the Siwagrha necrology, this tabernacle was erected during the reign of Rakai Pikatan( medial 9th century) of the Ancient Mataram Kingdom. still, for reasons that are still mysterious, the center of the area moved to East Java in the late 10th century. This magnific tabernacle was abandoned and incompletely buried by the eruption of Mount Merapi. Gradationally, the Prambanan area came a thick timber. It was hundreds of times latterly that the remains of this tabernacle were rediscovered. At that time the history of this tabernacle wasn't known, so the legend of Roro Jonggrang was created which was told from generation to generation. Serious tabernacle restoration sweats began in the 1930s and the restoration of the main tabernacle was only completed in 1953.
Prambanan Temple Complex
It is estimated that there are 240 large and small temples in the Prambanan Temple complex. However, only 18 temples have been successfully restored, the rest are piles of scattered stones. Three of the 8 main temples, called Candi Trimurti ("three forms"), are dedicated to the 3 highest Hindu deities: Lord Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Sustainer, and Shiva the Destroyer.
The Shiva Temple in the middle is the largest structure in the Prambanan Temple complex and has 5 apartments east, south, west, north, and a main room in the middle of the tabernacle. The east room is connected to the main room which contains a 3 cadence high statue of Shiva Mahadeva. The northern room contains the statue of Durga Mahisasuramardini, the woman of Shiva. This Durga statue is known as Roro Jonggrang in original legend. Right in front of the Trimurti tabernacle there are 3 lower tabernacles for vehicles or lifts of these gods; the ox Nandi rides Shiva, the swan rides Brahma, and the Garuda rides Vishnu.
Ramayana Story Relief
Prambanan Temple is decorated with reliefs that tell the story of Ramayana and Krishnayana. The story of Ramayana starts from the birth of Rama, the hijacking of Sita( Rama's woman ) by Ravana, the trouble to save Sita by Hanoman( the monkey commander), the reunion of Rama and Sita, to the rendition of Rama's throne to his son. The reliefs of this Ramayana story are sculpted on the inner wall of the hedge along the gallery passage that surrounds the main tabernacle. This relief is read by circling the tabernacle in a clockwise direction, starting from the east side of the Shiva tabernacle( 42 scenes) and continuing to the Brahma tabernacle( 30 scenes). Not far from Prambanan Temple, the eternally sculpted love story of Rama and Sinta is also offered in the form of a ballet every Tuesday night, Thursday night, and Saturday night. The Prambanan Ramayana Ballet holds the Guinness World Records world record as the Ramayana cotillion performance that involves the utmost hop as well as the longest ballet and regularly performs the Ramayana cotillion from 1961 to 2012. London and New York have The Phantom of the Opera, Jogja has the Ramayana Ballet. In the dry season, performances are performed outside with the Prambanan Temple illuminated in the background.
Prambanan Photo Spot
Photographer YogYes told me several spots to take the stylish prints at Prambanan Temple, including the Bu Ani spot, the perwara tabernacle ruin spot, and the Syiwa Mandala spot. Before entering the tabernacle grounds from the main road, turn south. Then we can take prints of the entire main tabernacle framed by mahogany trees. This spot is also known as Bu Ani's spot. Another popular spot among shutterbugs is the remains of ancillary tabernacles as a dramatic focus for the main tabernacles.
At 15.00, visitors to Prambanan Temple will be asked to leave zone 1 by security officers. However, we can still capture the sunset view at Prambanan Temple from the Shiva Mandala field near the exit of the main temple court. If that night there is a Ramayana Ballet performance, the lights will illuminate the main temples. The result is incredibly beautiful photos.
